Model sailboat racing is a fascinating and competitive hobby that blends engineering, strategy, and a love of sailing. Enthusiasts race remote-controlled scale sailboats, which are powered only by the wind—just like their full-sized counterparts. Competitors control the sails and rudder from shore, navigating courses marked by buoys under the racing rules established by US Sailing as adopted by the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA).
At IRMSC, we take pride in our friendly community and our outstanding facilities, making the club a great place for both beginners and seasoned sailors.
We are based in Vero Beach, Florida, and race a variety of classes, including Dragon Flite 95, IOM, Soling One Meter, Dragon Force 65, and RG 65 sailboats.
Summer Schedule: Races typically begin at 1:00 PM every day of the week
Fall, Winter & Spring Schedule: We sail at 1:00 PM on Monday through Friday for scored races and on weekends for practice

Our home water is the beautiful sailing pond at Hobart Park (4700 77th Street, Vero Beach, FL). [Click here for a map.]
The pond is large, weed-free, and perfectly situated—sun at our backs, wind in our faces, and plenty of room for exciting racing.
We invite you to stop by and watch the action—it’s thrilling to see these wind-powered boats compete! Even better, give it a try yourself. Sailing is easy to learn, the entry cost is quite reasonable, and we are always eager to welcome new members.
IRMSC is AMYA Club #34.
