Model sailboat racing is a fascinating and competitive hobby where enthusiasts race remote-controlled (RC) scale sailboats. It combines engineering, strategy, and a love for sailing. In model sailboat racing, competitors control their boats from the shore. The boats are propelled only by wind, just like full-sized sailboats. Races typically follow a course marked by buoys, and participants use their remote controls to adjust the sails and rudder to navigate. Races are managed under rules from organizations like the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA).
IRMSC is known for its welcoming community and well-maintained facilities, making it a great place for both beginners and experienced model sailors.

We have a wonderful large sailing pond. Weed free, the sun at our backs, the wind in our faces: fantastic!
Please come down and watch! It is a blast simply watching these wind-powered boats race. We have lots of fun and new members are always welcome! It is easy to learn how to sail and the cost of getting into the sport can be very reasonable.
